Tabriz Ophthalmology Training Group started its independent activity in 1361 in the current location of Tabriz Charitable Medical Training Center and has developed and promoted its activities in the fields of education, research and treatment for 40 years.

Currently, various fields such as anterior parts (cornea), vitreous and retina, strabismus and children are expanding in the form of fellowships, and every year 5 ophthalmic assistants and 2 fellowships in the field of cornea and retina and one person in the field It accepts pediatrics and strabismus and after passing the necessary courses and acquiring sufficient clinical skills, it is handed over to the country's ophthalmology community with the presence of experienced and hardworking professors.

Annually performing more than 20,000 elective, emergency and outpatient surgeries, as well as more than 200,000 outpatient visits in specialized and sub-specialized clinics of the group, has provided a wide field of educational, research and therapeutic activities for professors, doctors and physicians.

The presence of specialized and subspecialized clinics, eye imaging department, laser surgery department, and 10 eye surgery operating rooms is a blessing for the eye department to take greater steps by relying on the experiences and efforts of veteran professors. can be considered for growth and prosperity.

Before the Islamic Revolution, the Department of Ophthalmology and the Department of Otorhinolaryngology jointly formed a scientific group called the Department of Eye and Otorhinolaryngology, and until then the number of members of the faculty of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology was many times higher than the faculty of the Eye Department after the revolution and with Reorganization of scientific groups of medical school, departments of urology, ophthalmology, ENT, neuroscopy found a consensus in a scientific group called special surgery group.
